Russell Wilson signs 4-year, $87.6 million extension with Seattle Seahawks
Russell Wilson is staying in Seattle.
The star quarterback who guided the franchise to one Super Bowl win in two straight appearances signed a 4-year, $87.6 million contract on Friday morning. He previously earned $2.1 million in total over the last three years.
Wilson, who threw for a career-high 3,745 yards and 20 touchdowns last season when the Seahawks fell to the Patriots in heartbreaking fashion in the Super Bowl, confirmed the news on Twitter:
Wilson's deal averages $21.9 million a year, which is barely less than the $22 million a year Aaron Rodgers is getting.
