4. Jurors to decide Colorado shooter's punishment
James Holmes' defense attorneys made one last plea for mercy on Thursday citing his mental illness, as jurors decide his punishment for murdering 12 people and trying to kill 70 others at a Colorado movie theater in 2012.

5. China lashes out against US over disputed waters
China slammed the U.S. on Thursday, claiming its criticism of China's development projects in the South China Sea was an attempt to create discord and said the U.S. is trying to "militarize" the region.
