Iran Leader Tweets Photos Of Obama Holding A Gun To His Head

On Saturday, Iran's supreme religious leader Ayatollah Khamenei tweeted this picture of what many say is a silhouetted President Obama holding a gun to his head. The tweet is in response to Obama saying that the U.S. could still use military force should the recent nuclear deal with Tehran fall through.

Under the deal, Iran will be forced to limit its nuclear program in return for the lifting of billions of dollars of Western economic sanctions.

Ayatollah's picture reads, "We welcome no war, nor do we initiate any war, but if any war happens, the one who will emerge loser will be the aggressive and criminal U.S."

Which is from his speech on July 18, in which he said that the nuclear agreement made with diplomats earlier this month "will not change" Iran's policies toward the U.S.

That speech was followed with chants of "Death to America" and "Death to Israel."

Many Twitter users responded by mocking the tweet, not taking the threatening image seriously.

@pourmecofee said, "Um, check the agreement. You can't tweet memes without approval of UN Meme Council."

And @Will_Antonin tweeted, "Whoa. Since when did Iran develop graphic designers with a 'Mad Men" aesthetic?'" He makes a good comparison.

However others -- specifically U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry -- have called Ayatollah's response to the deal "very troubling."
