Not all dares are as nice as the ones Jimmy Kimmel had his contestants to do.

This is the case of a young man in London who had his friends film him while he jumped off the Tower Bridge and into the Thames river for a dare from one of his 27,000 YouTube subscribers.

The shock from the impact with the cold water and the river's current put the man in danger and a lifeboat staff had to rescue him and treat him for exhaustion and infection from the water.

According to The Evening Standard, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution community safety manager commented the following:

"We're glad this young man regrets his actions, but we would strongly discourage anyone from doing anything like this. Jumping into the Thames from a bridge is extremely dangerous. The shock of cold water can make it very difficult to swim and strong currents can rapidly sweep people away."


The jumper regretted his action as he expressed in the video as well as on Twitter:
