ANDERSON, Ind. (July 20, 2015) — A Boy Scout troop in Anderson is being credited for helping save an elderly man during a hike.

The troop was hiking at Table Rock State Park Friday when they came across a man sitting on the ground.

They determined he was dehydrated and suffering from exhaustion.

They called park rangers, cooled him down, and gave him electrolyte tabs and water.

Park staff thanked the scouts by giving each of them a complimentary park patch and a refund on camping fees.

The elderly man has fully recovered, and he even wrote to the scouts thanking them for all their help.
