Los Angeles -- the land of beautiful people, never-ending diets, fitness gurus, and eternal sunshine. While most of us Angelenos love our green juices and healthy-eating habits we also love a good, hearty breakfast sandwich. While L.A. may seem like the breakfast burrito mecca, breakfast sandwiches have made their mark in the City of Angels.
Whether it's brunch with your friends on the weekend, or a quick dash to your food truck, or you happen to be in town, these top breakfast sandwiches will be sure to make your day!
1. EggSlut LA
Egg lovers rejoice! Eggs are the star at this downtown hotspot. Founded in 2011, Chef Alvin Cailan drew his inspiration for this establishment by a true love for eggs, creating a haven where people can drop in all day and enjoy their gourmet sandwiches.
Winners: SAUSAGE, EGG & CHEESE and FAIRFAX sandwiches.
Why: Once you take a bite of the SAUSAGE, EGG & CHEESE -- you'll understand why Chef Cailan loves a good fried egg. The yolk warmly hits your mouth in all the right places and the honey mustard aioli gives it a sweet, tangy, taste that you'll want to order another one.
The most popular and undoubtedly the best eggs you'll ever have in a soft brioche bun is on the FAIRFAX sandwich. Soft scrambled eggs and chives, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions get an extra kick with sriracha mayo. Eat your heart out.

What makes BLD a true winner in our books? The fact they serve breakfast until 3 p.m. Inspired by a desire to "serve simple, delicious food made with high-quality, seasonal ingredients" it's no secret that Chef Neal Fraser and Amy Knoll Fraser's restaurant is the perfect place to indulge in one of our absolute favorite breakfast sandwiches.
Winner: FRIED EGG SANDWICH
Why: This sandwich holds it's own among the best in Los Angeles. Thick-cut bacon, runny egg, Gruyere cheese and an aioli all sandwiched between toasted sourdough bread. It's a massive sandwich that will keep you full until dinnertime. What makes this sammie even better? It comes with a choice of three types of potatoes -- but the fingerlings are our favorite.

3. Free Range LA
The #ChickenGawds have spoken and have sent us Free Range from the heavens. This roaming food truck serves breakfast and lunch -- and with over 33K Instagram followers, it's a breakfast sandwich cult all on its own. Reflective of California's farm and market culture, they serve the best food with only the freshest ingredients.
Winner: We really can't pick one, but our favorite is the BACON EGG & CHEESE BISCUIT. A close second is the ORIGINAL FREE RANGE LA CHICKEN SANDWICH.
Why: Applewood smoked bacon, over easy egg, spicy ketchup & local cheddar all sandwiched between a warm homemade biscuit that's so soft and fluffy it melts in your mouth.

4. Plan Check Kitchen & Bar
A perfect brunch option, Plan Check opens at noon (perfect for next-day hangover cures) and with three locations, you're sure to be near to at least one restaurant. The Plan Check name "stems from the first location, adjacent to the Building and Safety Department, where architects and engineers flock daily to get plans reviewed for permitting." How about that for an architectural wow?
Winner: PASTRAMI NOSH
WHY: A mouthwatering sunny fried egg, melt-in-your-mouth Swiss cheese, Kimchi mustard, pickles, and a massive helping of double smoked pastrami -- sandwiched between two thick pieces of warm fluffy bread is sure to cure any savory craving.

5. Bagel Nosh Deli
The ultimate cross-over between Los Angeles and New York can be found at Bagel Nosh. Near the beautiful Santa Monica beach, it's the perfect spot to grab some breakfast before hitting the waves or taking a stroll along the stunning coast.
Winner: Breakfast Sandwich
Why: You really can't go wrong here. Pick your bagel, meat, and cheese -- combine those ingredients with two hearty fresh farm eggs and you've got your perfect morning pick-me-up. The freshly baked bagels are the star here, and with over 15 choices it's hard to order just one sandwich.
