One Direction member Louis Tomlinson expecting a child

Zayn Malik's departure from One Direction just got overshadowed.

Louis Tomlinson, 23, is reportedly expecting a child with LA-based stylist Briana Jungwirth, also 23, according to People.

"Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother," a source told the magazine.

The source continued that the pregnancy was "a surprise at first," but the pair, who were close friends, have become closer from the news.

Tomlinson, who met Jungwirth through mutual friends earlier this year, was previously in a 4-year relationship with Eleanor Calder, who he had met through bandmate Harry Styles.

The boy band member has vowed to be a "hands-on dad" when the baby arrives next year and has reportedly flown to LA for each ultrasound thus far.

The 1D baby will have playmates -- Tomlinson's mother, who remarried after splitting from his father, gave birth to a set of twins on in February 2014.

As for the soon-to-be mom, a pal said, "Briana is a really lovely girl; she's absolutely not interested in Louis' fame. She's very private and most of the time they spend together is out of the public eye, just hanging out with their friends."
