This man was arrested for trying to sell a baby

Updated

Apparently some people don't quite understand the concept that babies are indeed human beings and therefore cannot be sold as property. They might not speak all that eloquently and their table manners could be improved, but they nevertheless are entitled to the same rights as all other human beings and cannot be sold for any monetary value.

This is why, after attempting to sell a baby girl at a shopping arcade in Manchester, a man was arrested on Saturday night. The 28-year-old was reportedly pushing the child in a stroller on Saturday afternoon as he approached strangers and asked if they wanted to buy the little girl.

Fortunately, a passerby took a photo of the incident that police were able to trace. The 3-month-old girl was found unharmed and the man was taken into custody on suspicion of child neglect.

Detective Inspector Liam Boden said:

"We would like to thank members of the public and the media for their assistance in publicizing the appeal earlier today. We have now arrested a man on suspicion of child neglect and will be questioning him in relation to the incident as we try to establish the full circumstances."

Sorry Manchester shoppers, this baby is not for sale.

Sadly enough, this isn't the first time some less-than-intelligent lad has attempted to sell an infant. Watch this video to learn about the man who tried selling a baby on Craigslist:
