'Suicide Squad' Crashes Comic-Con Panel, Shows First Trailer Footage

Director David Ayer wow'd fans in Hall H with the first trailer for "Suicide Squad," the super villainous new film from Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment.

Also on hand to surprise the fans: the cast.

"We are banging out something that is absolutely fantastic," Will Smith said.

The first trailer included a first look at Smith's Deadshot character as well as Jared Leto's The Joker: "I'm going to really, really hurt you," he says.

Ayer added: "We were shooting last night in Toronto but we had to come down b/c you guys run this s–t!" Ayer told the enthusiastic crowd.

Jared Leto, who will play the Joker in the pic, was not present. "Suicide Squad" also stars Margot Robbie, Scott Eastwood, Joel Kinnaman, Cara Delevingne, Common, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, Adam Beach, Ike Barinholtz and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

The film follows a band of supervillains hired for a dangerous mission by the government. If they succeed, their criminal records will be wiped clean. The pic is currently in production in Toronto.

The pic debuts in theaters August 5, 2016.
