Singer wears all his clothes to avoid extra baggage fee, nearly passes out on the plane
A boy band member wanted to avoid paying an extra baggage fee for his many clothes, so, he emptied his suitcase and put them on. All 12 layers! He was so hot under the collar he collapsed mid-flight.
James McElvar of Scottish boy band Rewind thought he was being thrifty, suiting up with 12 layers of clothing (even though he could certainly afford the $70 extra baggage fee) but he collapsed on the EasyJet flight from London to Glasgow from heat exhaustion.
The BBC reports a paramedic told him he was lucky to be alive. He had on six shirts, five sweaters, three pairs of jeans, two sweat pants, two jackets and two hats! It's important to note James lost most of his clothes while on the flight.
The band made sure fans knew he was okay, tweeting, "For everyone asking James is ok. He is being looked after in hospital, now back home safe in Glasgow. He sends you all his love."And rival budget airline, Ryanair made sure James knew which plane to take next time, tweeting "Hey James, before you get hot under the collar, rewind, book Ryanair and get two free bags."
