Greek shipyards face bleak future

While all eyes have been on the Greek government amid the country's financial crisis, little attention has been paid to the small communities that have been hit the hardest.

In Perama, a tiny town in the outskirts of Athens, shipping is what makes the community go round. Generations of Perama families have been building ships for centuries, but the recent economic slowdown has caused the area to suffer an alarming 90 percent unemployment rate.

In the images above, shipyard workers are captured continuing to do what generations before them have done despite the industry' bleak future.
