When Emma Murphy took to Facebook to share her personal story of domestic violence, hundreds of thousands felt her pain. Murphy is a fitness blogger from Dublin, Ireland and the mother of two young children. She posts cheerful photos about her babies Arabella and Xavier, healthy recipes made with leafy greens and smiling selfies in her latest fashion finds.
Her July 6 video post was a polar opposite turn from the sunny Irish blogger thousands grew to love. Emma Murphy took to Facebook to tell her heartbreaking story of domestic abuse, donning a black eye.
Her boyfriend of three and a half years and the father of her children is a repeat abuser. As mentioned in her video post, there were tumultuous highs and lows in their relationship. Because of her children and love for this man, she stayed with him. It was not until recently that she finally gained the courage to leave...and never go back.
She ends her video with a tearful plea to every women out there — know when to walk away...and stay away.
