CHICAGO (AP) — Authorities say a 7-year-old boy who was celebrating the Fourth of July with his family was among three people who were shot and killed overnight in Chicago.

At least 27 other people were wounded in overnight shootings.

Police say 7-year-old Amari Brown was shot after someone opened fire just before midnight Saturday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. He was pronounced dead early Sunday at Stroger Hospital. Relatives say the boy had been celebrating with family when he was shot.

The two others who were killed were a 26-year-old man who was shot in the Albany Park neighborhood and a 26-year-old man shot in the South Shore neighborhood.

Police say a 19-year-old man was shot and wounded Saturday as two groups fought near Navy Pier after the fireworks display.
