Hilary Duff scored a Top 10 debut on last week's Billboard 200 chart when her comeback album, Breathe In. Breathe Out., debuted at No. 5 with 39,000 units earned, according to Nielsen Music. Her first album since 2007's Dignity was preceded by a widely publicized foray into the dating world with the app Tinder -- a move that Duff called a "social experiment" and defended as authentic in a recent sit-down with Billboard.

"It became just this big, funny thing, but real," says Duff, who documented her Tinder dates in the music video for her single "Sparks." "I really did go on the dates, and I really did talk with the guys. I think my profile's still up on Tinder. I'm not currently swiping, but it was fun."

She also praises her Tinder dates with "normal" guys: "No one handed me a lock of their hair or showed me any inappropriate parts or anything," she says. "That would have made a better video, to be honest. I wish one of them had just exposed himself right away or something!"

Duff also discussed the process of "rebuilding" her pop star lifestyle, after years spent away from the spotlight and focused on becoming a mother. "When I was rehearsing and stuff, I was having fittings and packing, and it's a fucking lot," she admits. "But it's an awesome job."
