Starbucks customers are devastated that the coffee chain is removing a popular iced drink from its menu.

The Valencia Orange Refresher is being discontinued in early July, a Starbucks barista confirmed to Business Insider.

The lightly caffeinated drink contains orange peel, cardamom, jasmine, and apricot. It's served over ice with an orange slice.

People are apparently addicted to the drink, and they are freaking out on Twitter over Starbucks' plans to axe it.

There's also an online petition begging the company to save the beverage, reports Seattle attorney Melody Overton on her blog, StarbucksMelody.com. Starbucks customers have been successful in the past with similar campaigns to bring back canceled items.

"Why is it that they have to cancel a drink that is loved dearly by so many Starbucks fans, when clearly they can afford it?" the petition asks. "Corporate claims they will replace the Refresher with another drink, which we all know will never compare."

Hundreds of fans on Twitter say they are shocked by the company's decision and find no reason to go to Starbucks anymore.
