We've all heard "eat your veggies" at one point or another throughout our childhood, but some may not realize just how important they actually are. Packed with more vitamins than you can imagine, leafy greens are a great way to detox pesticides and heavy metals we're all exposed to on a daily basis.
3) Lemon and citrus fruits
Incorporate a little avocado into your meal, or squeeze a little lemon into your water and believe it or not -- you'll easily jump start your immune system and begin your detox before even knowing it.
4) Garlic and onion
Stimulating your gut, liver and immune system -- these intense smelling foods help your body in more ways than one and are a great addition to any detox kick.

1. Avoid teflon and plastics when cooking and storing food
Like harsh cleaning supplies, non-stick compounds like Teflon, as well as plastic containers, can leach harmful endocrine disruptors into food—especially when heated.
