SACRAMENTO (FOX40) –Just after 8 p.m. Thursday, Sergeant Tony Vance landed at Sacramento International Airport after a long flight from Seoul, South Korea.

Waiting for him was his mother, Erica, and his girlfriend, Misty. Both were obviously very happy to see Sgt. Vance, but he had a special surprise for Misty.

Passengers coming down the escalator handed Misty a rose as they passed by before, finally, Vance appeared, flanked by members of the Patriot Guard, and asked her to marry him.

Vance has served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and is now in his second deployment to South Korea.
