NBA Draft Rumors: Knicks leaning towards Frank Kaminsky at No. 4 overall?

Report: Knicks to Meet With Frank Kaminsky in Advance of NBA Draft

When the NBA Draft projections first came in, Wisconsin star Frank Kaminsky was a stud but one who was projected as mid to late round pick. Since then, he has shot up draft boards and is now looking like a guaranteed Top 10 pick.

Teams like the Knicks, Kings and Hornets are all talking about trading down in the draft, but Frank The Tank could persuade them to reconsider those options.

According to Chad Ford from ESPN.com, the new draft projection range for Frank Kaminsky is between the No. 4 overall pick with the Knicks and the No. 9 pick with the Hornets.

This is both good and bad news for the Knicks. While Kaminsky has long been a player that Phil Jackson has been high on, but it's been stated that taking him in the Top 5 is reaching for him. That's not a knock on Kaminsky's value, rather it just seems like the Knicks could trade down and get something in addition to drafting Kaminsky.

With word that there is increased interest in Kaminsky between picks 4 through 9, the Knicks have seemingly lost their option to trade down and take him. That doesn't mean he's going to be the pic at No. 4 overall, as Jahlil Okafor or D'Angelo Russell could be an option as well.

Still, beyond the Knicks there is interest in Kaminsky and the days where he could be going to the Pacers at No. 11 or the Bucks even later than that seem to be over. Not only is the Wisconsin star a guaranteed lottery pick, but he's looking to be a lock in the Top 10.
