Argentina Proposes Catcalling Fines

Argentina could become the first country to establish fines for people caught cat calling.

Cat calling is aggressive and makes people feel unsafe. So most people are on board with the idea that we need to find a way to end cat calling and to help make people feel safer on the street but are fines really the right answer?

The proposed legislation in Argentina would fine anyone cat calling as much as $775. Proponents say the law would curb sexual violence against women — but opponents say the law would be difficult to enforce and could be a violation of freedom of speech. But still, being catcalled is a breach of making people feel comfortable.
