Miley Cyrus' big night at amfAR Gala: Her agender date, Caitlyn Jenner art & awesome dress
Judging by the pictures alone, Miley Cyrus had quite the night at Tuesday's amfAR Inspiration Gala in New York City!
The 22-year-old star was honored with the foundation's Inspiration Award along with Bravo's Andy Cohen, and helped raise a lot of money for the nonprofit organization, which is dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention and treatment education.
Sporting a bright red Moschino gown with bedazzled hearts and matching arm gloves, Miley was clearly the center of attention, even amongst her fellow celebs.
... And yes, she's still rocking the armpit hair.
The "Wrecking Ball" singer chose to bring poet and photographer Tyler Ford -- who some viewers might remember from Oxygen's The Glee Project -- as her date.
"Meet Tyler, a 24 year old living in New York City, and my date for @amfar tonight!!" Miley Instagrammed on Tuesday. "Tyler is a queer, biracial, agender person, whose pronouns are they/them/theirs."
Miley also got to meet Orange Is the New Black star Laverne Cox, who looked super glam in a sexy black gown featuring a thigh-high slit. "Dreams come true," Miley wrote.
But aside from obviously having some good times, Miley managed to raise a lot of cash for the cause by auctioning off her Caitlyn Jenner-inspired artwork. Her "The Caitlyn Collection" -- three bedazzled and signed copies of the now-iconic Vanity Fair cover featuring Jenner -- sold for a whopping $69,000.
Miley's parents -- Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus -- were on hand to support their daughter on her big night. Tish, 48, managed to almost steal the show in a very revealing mesh gown, suffering a nip slip on the red carpet at one point. Still, that didn't detract from her "great night."
"My baby @mileycyrus was honored tonight," Tish Instagrammed. "I couldn't be more proud!
Earlier this month, Miley revealed to Paper magazine that she told her mother she was interested romantically in girls when she was 14 years old.
"She didn't want me to be judged and she didn't want me to go to hell," she recalled. "But she believes in me more than she believes in any god. I just asked for her to accept me. And she has."
