Why being single in a big city is a blessing in disguise
You're not alone, and it's time to realize that being single in a big city is actually a blessing, not a curse. Every day, you wake up with the opportunity to be whoever you want to be, free from the confines of someone else's thoughts and perceptions of you. At every corner, there's a new face to meet, a new place to be seen, and a new part of yourself to be discovered. The world is your playground.
Think of this as less of a time for searching, and more of a time for discovering who you really are. Check out these tips that will help lead you down a path of being a single and solo city star:
- Sign up for a class you've always wanted to take. Whether you're interested in learning a new language or learning how to act, taking a class for fun can open you up to new doors that you didn't even know existed.
- Hang out with someone you normally wouldn't spend time with. When you let your wall of judgment down, you open yourself to meeting all kinds of interesting people. Hanging out with someone you normally wouldn't spend time with will not only open you up to that person's differences, but it may open you up to meeting people who are friends with that person, too.
- Take up a new hobby. You don't have to be a master at it to enjoy it. Try painting, or running, or sign up for that half marathon you've been contemplating. Throwing yourself into something new teaches you so much about yourself and your limits (or lack thereof).
- Cook it up! Whether you're already into cooking or pasta and red sauce is your go-to, cooking is an awesome thing to throw yourself into. There are so many possibilities, and the more you explore, the more new foods and recipes you discover.
