Two inmates who escaped from a New York prison last week are still at large — and it turns out one is pretty good artist.

Richard Matt and David Sweat escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility in Upstate New York nine days ago, allegedly with the assistance of a prison worker, Joyce Mitchell.

During his 25-years-to-life sentence for murder, Matt painted portraits of celebrities like Angelina Jolie and prominent political figures like the Clintons.

For the past few years, Matt sent his paintings to John Mulligan, a former inmate whom he served time with.

"His life is wasted because I don't think he'll ever be released, especially not now ... Wasted talent is the worst. What he could have become if he didn't take the route that he did," Mulligan told CNY Central.
