Chris Pratt just might be up to play the new Indiana Jones

Updated

Now that "Jurassic World" has topped $200 million in one weekend, rumors of Chris Pratt starring in the reboot of "Indiana Jones" are resurfacing. The rumors were shut down back in March, but word on the street is that the prospect isn't dead yet.

Rumor has it that Steven Spielberg is especially enthusiastic about naming Pratt the new Jones. During the press rounds for "Jurassic World," Spielberg praised Pratt after carefully selecting him to play the lead.

While Harrison Ford made the role classic and iconic, we can't help but melt over the idea of Pratt picking up the torch...and whip. Thanks to "Guardians of the Galaxy," he's in excellent shape for the role. He also has Ford's knack for intelligent wit. People all over the social media scene are buzzing with excitement over Pratt's hopeful new role.

While we have no confirmation on the lead actor, we do know that "Indiana Jones 5" is happening for sure:
