Vince Vaughn, Charles Barkley Pick Up Tab For Lightning Coach In Chi Town

Chicago might be the most hospitable city in the country.
Tampa Bay Lightning coach Jon Cooper is being treated like a King while up north with his hockey team battling the Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Earlier this week CBS reported that basketball legend Charles Barkley picked up the tab for Cooper and Co. at Chicago Cut, a swanky steakhouse. The Lightning went on to beat the Blackhawks the very next day, taking the lead in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Maybe Cooper thought the bone-in-prime rib or chateaubriand was good luck because he returned to Chicago Cut a second time.

Lo and behold Cooper and his twenty nearest and dearest got their tab picked up again. The Chicago Tribune reports Cooper tried to pay it forward and pick up the check for Blackhawks super fan Vince Vaughn.

According to the Tribune, the "Swingers" actor called the server over and said 'This is Chicago, my town. This is how we treat people. I got his check.'

And, Vaughn's good deed was rewarded. The Blackhawks beat the Lightning in a 2-1 win in game 4 to even the series. Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals is Saturday in Tampa.

If I were Chicago coach Joel Quenneville, I'd be expecting one heck of a welcome dinner in Florida.
