Honeymoon Stage Vs. Now

The 'honeymoon' stage marks the start of every relationship. In an isolated bubble of bliss, you go through the motions of trying to make each other smile with cute gestures, introducing each other to the parents, making a good impression on the friends, and attempting to seem as cute and cool as possible. Here's how you know the bubble has popped and you're officially in a real-world relationship.

Honeymoon:
You text him 30 minutes after getting out of the shower letting him know you're jumping in the shower and will be ready in 20. This way he doesn't know how long it really takes you to get ready for date night.

Now:
You yell at him for getting tickets to the 9 pm movie because it only gives you 1.5 hours to shower, shave, dry your hair, do your makeup, and choose an outfit. He should know you better than that!

Honeymoon:
You are thrilled to watch the Ohio State game with him and the guys. You pretend to be really into football so his friends think you're cool.

Now:
You stay home to watch re-runs of Gossip Girl and tell him to call you after the game.

Honeymoon:
You ask your friends for outfit approval before meeting him for lunch.

Now:
You throw on clothes directly from the dirty pile because you only wore them for two hours yesterday, you know they matched, and you don't have the energy to come up with another option.

Honeymoon:
You know the importance of keeping the mystery alive. Burping out loud or getting food in your teeth in front of him would be mortifying.

Now:
You text him to pick up some Tums on his way home from Duane Reade.

Honeymoon:
He brings you flowers on special occasions

Now:

Honeymoon:
He likes you because you're chill, down to earth, smart, and you have similar interests.

Now:
He loves you because you're a self-sufficient hot mess who keeps him on his toes and loves to eat as much as he does.

These pictures perfectly epitomize the end of the honeymoon bubble:
