Man's Handwritten Note With Donated Wedding Dress Of Late Wife Goes Viral

Many personal items with a long history get donated, but their stories are rarely told. One man's handwritten note that he included with a vintage wedding dress he donated to a St. Gemma's Hospice charity shop in the UK is being widely shared online.

It says in part, "I wish any lady who takes this dress to have a life with her loved one 56 years like I did."

The 1950s lace dress is described by the charity store as being in "great condition for its age. There are no visible holes or tears in the fabric and there is no apparent discoloration."

It is believed that the gown was made specifically for the man's wife as it doesn't have any labels.

Given the worldwide interest, the dress has been put up for auction on eBay in order to raise funds for St. Gemma's Hospice.

The store was able to contact the owner of the dress who says that he wishes to remain anonymous but is happy to see all the interest that his late wife's beautiful dress is generating.
