How to Make Affogato

Once you learn what an "affogato" is, your life (and hips) will never be the same. We're so over the American method of serving coffee and dessert side-by-side. This fancy Italian term fits an even fancier dessert beverage...or beverage-like dessert: coffee-infused ice cream.

For all caffeine addicts with a sweet truth, "affogato" is a word you need to know. The dessert generally appears as a scoop of vanilla ice cream or gelato with a shot of hot espresso, just in case the sugar high needs an extra kick.

If the coffee-ice cream mix still isn't enough for that Friday-afternoon unwinding "me time," try adding a shot of amaretto or other liqueur. This bad boy kills three birds with one stone. You've affogato try it (read that line out loud and you'll discover some punny business)!
