Latin Grammys to air Nov. 19 from Vegas

Updated

The 16th annual Latin Grammys will be broadcast live on the Univision Network Nov. 19 from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, marking the show's eighth turn in Vegas and its second at the MGM Grand Garden Arena since the show first took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in 2000.

Nominees for the Latin Grammys will be revealed September 23 via a "digital nominations announcement," setting in motion a series of events leading up the actual Latin Grammy Awards. These include the Latin Grammy Street Parties, the Latin Grammy Acoustic Sessions and the Latin Grammy in the schools. Events during Latin Grammy week include the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year Gala and the Special Awards Presentation, which honors lifetime achievement winners, among others.

The Latin Grammy Acoustic Sessions will kick off September 23, the day of the nominee announcements, with a show in Los Angeles. It will be followed by shows in New York (Oct. 8), Dallas (Oct. 22) and Miami (Nov. 5). The Latin Grammy Street Parties kick off Oct. 18 in Los Angeles and will be followed by Dallas (Oct. 25) and Miami (Nov. 8). There will be Latin Grammy In the Schools programs in both Puerto Rico and Las Vegas.
