'Homeland' adds Miranda Otto and 3 more new series regulars
Homeland is bringing alone several new faces in its move to Berlin.
As filming on the Showtime drama's fifth season gets underway this week, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that four new players will have regular status when the show returns in the fall. Among them is Lord of the Rings actress Miranda Otto. She'll be joined by Sarah Sokolovic and German actors Sebastian Koch and Alexander Fehling.
With the bulk of the action in the season shifting to the German capital, the foursome will join returning regulars Claire Danes, Rupert Friend, F. Murray Abraham and Mandy Patinkin.
Otto, who will also be a co-star in HBO's upcoming Westworld, will play a Berlin chief of station, working under Patinkin's Saul Berenson. The other three will be working with Danes' Carrie Mathison. Koch fills the role of her new boss, German philanthropist Otto During, while Sokolovic and Fehling play colleagues at the Düring Foundation. (The latter doubles as Carrie's new boyfriend.)
