Designer Oscar de la Renta snubs adopted son out of his will

The adopted son of late fashion designer Oscar de la Renta has been snubbed from his father's $26M will because of a bitter fashion fallout.

According to Page Six, 30-year-old Moises de la Renta was left a very small piece of his late father's fortune, and was warned he'd be cut out completely if he contested the will.

Moises had a fallout with Oscar back in 2005 when he launched his own fashion line, MDLR, aiming to attract younger crowd.

"Moises did a little line, five or six pieces," his father told New York Magazine at the time. "But that doesn't make a fashion designer."

MDLR never took off.

Oscar de la Renta died last October at the age of 82 and left majority of his estate to his wife, including real estate. The rest was divided among her three children and Moises.

After de la Renta's wife lost her battle to cancer, the fashion designer adopted Moises from an orphanage in the Dominican Republic when he was just a few hours old.

"I never thought I would get married again," he said. "I thought my son and I would have each other.''
