9 best celeb wedding dresses
Most girls spend countless hours dreaming of their perfect wedding, and the dress is the focal point of that fantasy. Even Hollywood's elite falls prey to the allure of tulle, lace and pearls! Unlike most of us, however, those celebs are lucky enough to have access to some of the best designers in the world who can turn all of their elaborate ideas into an elegant reality.
What does that look like? Check out our nine favorite celebrity wedding dresses, and you'll get a pretty good idea of what money can buy. (According to these photos, that includes happiness.)
1. Kate Middleton
A princess has to have the perfect dress, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, certainly did. After months of speculation, Kate married Prince William on April 29, 2011, in a stunning long-sleeve lace Alexander McQueen creation. The tiara wasn't too shabby either.
2. Amal Clooney
Sorry, George -- all eyes were on Amal on your wedding day. How could they be anywhere else? The British human rights attorney lit up the room in a French lace Oscar de la Renta dress with a floor-length veil. Amal was one of the last women to wear a custom gown by the Dominican-American designer -- the Clooneys were married in Venice, Italy, on Sept. 27, 2014, and de la Renta passed away on Oct. 20.
3. Christina Ricci
Wednesday Addams may not have approved, but the actress who played her was over-the-moon about the Givenchy gown she wore for her Oct. 26, 2013, nuptials to camera tech James Heerdegen in Manhattan. "I'm sorry I have to share what @riccardotisci made for me!! #iloveyouricky!" she tweeted. The stunning dress featured a pearl-embellished top, shoulder cut-outs, three-quarter length lace sleeves and silk tulle skirt.
4. Kim Kardashian
Christina wasn't the only blushing bride gushing over Riccardo Tisci. When Kim married Kanye West in a spectacular wedding at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, on May 24, 2014, she did it in a custom-made long-sleeved Givenchy Haute Couture lace gown with a long silk veil. Kanye and daughter North West were also decked out in designs by family friend Tisci.
5. Angelina Jolie
Everything about the long-awaited union between Angelina and Brad Pitt was unique, from the ceremony being held at the Chateau Miraval chapel on their own estate in Correns, France, to the cake baked by their then 10-year-old son Pax. The most intriguing part of all, though, was that dress. Donatella Versace helped create the custom Atelier Versace white silk-satin stunner with a gathered bust and elongated train, while master tailor Luigi Massi sewed embroidered drawings by the six Jolie-Pitt kids into the veil. "Luigi is like family to me and I couldn't imagine anyone else making this dress," the 39-year-old actress told People. "He knows and cares for the children, and it was great fun putting it together."
6. Gwen Stefani
Who says you can't be pretty in pink on your wedding day? When the No Doubt frontwoman married fellow rocker Gavin Rossdale in September 2002, her gown was exactly what we would expect from a ska princess who rarely deviates from her old Hollywood bleached blonde hair and red lip beauty combo. While the long lace veil was traditional, her bold, ombre John Galliano for Dior dress was anything but.
7. Lauren Conrad
The queen of chic didn't disappoint on her wedding day to musician-turned-lawyer William Tell last September. The former Hills star glowed in a two-tone strapless ivory masterpiece designed by Mark Badgley and James Mischka. The gown was made of Chantilly lace, embroidered with Alençon lace and embellished with pearls, crystals and baby glass beads -- the perfect centerpiece of a stylish California ceremony.
8. Portia De Rossi
The Arrested Development star and wife Ellen DeGeneres both wore Zac Posen for their backyard nuptials in August 2008. It takes a gusty, gorgeous gal to don a gown with a revealing back and poufy chiffon skirt, and Portia was just the woman for the job.
9. Solange Knowles
Beyoncé's lil sis isn't known for her subtlety, so it's no surprise that her wedding to video director Alan Ferguson was planned out to the tiniest choreographed detail. "Everyone I worked with on the wedding are friends who I love," the 28-year-old singer told Vogue. "Everything was a labor of love." One of those loved ones included Humberto Leon, who designed the simple yet striking Kenzo column dress with a built-in floor-length cape. Naturally, there had to be a little bling to this photo-worthy day -- check out the thick gold cuffs peeking out from Solange's cape.
We're now full of wedding dress envy -- in the best possible way, of course.More from AOL.com:
