LeBron preaches peace to citizens of Cleveland amidst protests

Updated

Basketball star LeBron James urged citizens of Cleveland to remain calm and positive after a judge acquitted police officer Michael Brelo for the unarmed shooting deaths of two African Americans.

He told reporters on Saturday that, "Violence is not the answer" and that fans should channel their energy into something constructive, "For the city of Cleveland, let's use our excitement or whatever passion that we have for our sport for the game tomorrow night..."

Although he has made similar comments following other racially-charged cases both in Missouri and New York, LeBron's latest advice hits very close to home.

"I think sports is the biggest healers in helping the city out."
