Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak to write a book about their relationship for $7.5 million
Just when Mindy Kaling fans began to worry about the star's fate after Fox dropped "The Mindy Project," our favorite actress/writer made a whopping comeback. First, Hulu picked up the beloved show about our favorite OBGYN. Now, Mindy Kaling and her fellow writer and "The Office" co-star B.J. Novak have sold a book to Random House for $7.5 million about their crazy weird, behind-the-scenes, off-and-on relationship.

Not so different from the relationship their characters on "The Office" shared, the two are known to have a complicated dating history. According to Kaling, the duo share a "romantically charged camaraderie with loud arguments." Sounds like their characters Ryan and Kelly!
This book's epilogue is going to be "We're getting married!" right? http://t.co/ALRFddCcnO

Until last September, Kaling and Novak kept their relationship on the down low. However, Kaling finally opened up about the duo on Howard Stern's SiriusXM show. She said that Novak broke her heart a decade ago when she was 24 years old, head over heels, and likely prepared to marry Novak.
Novak also opened up to People Magazine last fall when he called Kaling and the relationship, "A really complicated person and a really complicated friendship, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world."
The book's title will likely be announced on May 30 at BookCon. Kaling will also chat about her second book of essays, "Why Not Me?" following her 2011 best seller, "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)."
