Rebel Wilson responds to rumors that she's lying about her age

Age is nothing but a number! It's just that in Rebel Wilson's case, that's a number no one can seem to agree on.

The Pitch Perfect 2 star known to be 29-years old, took to Twitter to respond to claims by Austrailian tabloid Woman's Day that she is actually 36-year-old Melanie Bownds.

The story has been picked up all over, but the actress is having none of it, writing, "OMG I'm actually a 100 year old mermaid formerly known as "CC Chalice" ....thanks shady Australian press for your tall poppy syndrome."

Rebel continued with a reference for her Pitch Perfect fandom, "Okay but all jokes aside now...my real name is Fat Patricia."

The tabloid quotes an anonymous source, claiming to have studied with Rebel -- whom they claim did not go by that name -- at Tara Anglican School for Girls in North Parramatta, Sydney.

The source also offered up these admittedly striking alleged yearbook photos as evidence.
