Mariska Hargitay explains how her Taylor Swift friendship began (thank Ingrid Michaelson)
Mariska Hargitay went on Late Night With Seth Meyers Tuesday night to explain exactly how she wound up in the "Bad Blood" video.
She said the "very nice" Taylor Swift first approached her at the Met Gala a few years back and told her she was a fan of her on Law & Order: SVU, and that her cat Olivia Benson was named after Hargitay's character.

A few weeks ago, Swift texted Hargitay to appear in the buzzy video, which Hargitay instantly accepted. But apparently the two really became friendly when they both went to an Ingrid Michaelson concert in 2014, and -- after realizing she didn't have a way home -- Swift offered to drop Hargitay and her husband off after the show.
A guest spot on Law & Order: SVU has to be in the cards eventually, right?
