After 15 seasons, "American Idol" is officially closing its curtains!

The longtime Fox network powerhouse, which many claim has gone far past its glory days, was once a reality TV staple and in its prime, the show pulled in massive television ratings, boasting nearly 37 million viewers during its peak. Final numbers dwindled down to a dismal 10 million overall in the last season.

Numbers aside, the show has stamped an everlasting impression on television history and was a game-changer for how the music business found talent.
