'It's Almost a Ghost Town:' 1 Month After Deadly Illinois Tornado

(WGN) FAIRDALE, Ill. - Most people are familiar with the devastating pictures captured of Fairdale when the EF4 tornado ripped through the town. One month later, it's more like a ghost town with little life and few signs of progress.

The town of 150 people living in 65 houses is eerily quiet now. The damage to their lives is visible every day and is affecting them, officials say, inside and out.

The town is still in need of help – both in donations and volunteers.

If you would like to donate, log on to The DeKalb County Community Foundation.

If you would like to volunteer, call 815-761-8078.
