CLEVELAND - A woman is facing child endangering charges after police say she tried to sell her 10-month-old daughter.

Elizabeth Gayton, 25, attempted to sell the young girl to a family member for $500 on two occasions, Cleveland court documents said. The relative called police, who arrested Gayton.

During their investigation, Cleveland police learned she abandoned her other child on April 25. That time, Gayton left her 2-year-old with a person she met the day before, according to the arrest warrant.

She was charged with kidnapping and child endangering and remains in jail, pending another hearing.

There is also an arrest warrant out for the baby's father, 27-year-old Corryaune Paige. He is accused of threatening to stab Gayton and kill their daughter.
