More than 100 shots fired at Treasure Coast home
FELLSMERE, Fla. -- Two men were arrested in Fellsmere on suspicion of firing more than 100 shots at a family of four.
"The neighbors are shooting at us. They just hit our car," one of the victims told a 911 operator.
Authorities have not released the victims' names.
The Indian River County Sheriff's Office said the shooting happened around 8 p.m. Monday night at a home in a very rural area on 93rd Street.
The victims told 911 the shots just started coming out of nowhere.
"They're shooting right at us. They're shooting right at us," said the man who called 911.
When deputies arrived, they had two men in custody in a manner of seconds.
Police said Adrian Zamarripa and Martin Corona were arrested as they tried to drive away from the scene. Deputies said they found an arsenal in their van: shotguns, rifles and more than 100 spent shell casings.
Investigators said the suspects told police they were just firing for fun and didn't realize there was a home or people in the area.
Nobody was injured.
Zamarripa and Corona are free on bond.
