Beth Stern Goes Behind the Scenes of Hallmark Channel's Kitten Bowl 2014

The Hallmark Channel has been bringing animal issues to the forefront for a while, creating platforms like the viral "Kitten Bowl". However, they've got a lot of interesting things coming up! Like Hallmark Channel's first-ever 'PAW STAR GAME,' where the most adorable and adoptable kittens go up to bat in a new Hallmark Channel Original Special premiering Sunday, July 12 at 6pm ET/PT, 5C.

The Hallmark Channel's Pet Project is connecting thousands of shelter animals in need with loving homes, a cause close to the heart of Bill Abbott, President & CEO of Crown Media Networks.

To elevate Pet Project to the next level, Hallmark has adopted their own shelter ambassadors, "Happy" the Cat and "Happy" the Dog. These two star rescues (below) are the whiskers and tails behind the Hallmark Channel's adoption initiative, encouraging everyone to step up for furry friends in need of a family.

You can meet these two paw-sitively adorable ambassadors on their "Tip to Tail" press tour, as "Happy" the Cat and "Happy" the Dog celebrate National Shelter Pet Adoption Day on April 30th and Be Kind To Animals Week kicking off on May 7th.

For those who are considering adoption but have yet to take the leap, there's no better day than today to be a hero for a shelter animal. The ASPCA estimates approximately 7.6 million potential pets enter animal shelters nationwide every year, and only 2.7 million of those actually get adopted.

Need further convincing? These precious Instagram pets make a strong case in the name of adoption! We dare you not to sprint to your nearest shelter after scrolling through these adorable critters.

The best puppy dog eyes of all time? Undoubtedly. The Humane Society is currently taking care of this pooch, but we bet he'd love his own home.

Ok Arabella, you just stay in there and we will bring you everything you need. #puppyeyes #adoptdontshop #sleepyhead #shelterdog #rescuedog
