Pregnant surfer Bethany Hamilton hits the waves and surfs for two
Bethany Hamilton doesn't let anything hold her back from doing what she loves.
The athlete lost her arm in a shark attack in 2003. Four years later, she was back on her surfboard competing professionally.
Now, the 25-year-old is six months pregnant with her first child and she's still hitting the waves. The pro surfer looked totally in her element surfing for two.
She and her husband Adam Dirks announced in February that they are having a boy.
Fans took to Twitter to say they were seriously impressed. Ross Bostick tweeted, "Bethany Hamilton from soul surfer is married, 6 months pregnant, and still surfing so if that isn't inspiring idk what is."
Vanhunks Boarding posted, "So inspired by Bethany Hamilton proving once again, she is UNSTOPPABLE."Kimberly Malinowski said, "Can't imagine being a surfer or being 6 months pregnant.I definitely can't imagine surfing at 6 months pregnant!Get it girl"
Hamilton tweeted, "6 months and 3 to go. Loving the feeling of our lil guy moving inside of me. Being a mom is a new exciting adventure."
Hamilton told Us Weekly, "My pregnancy has been pretty smooth overall. I've just been tired, had a few headaches, and am easily emotional. I've kept very active, but have also taken more time to rest. It's crazy, but I feel like I've done some of my best surfing preggo! I'm fully enjoying the ocean."She says she plans to ride waves for as long as she can and then stick to swimming until her son is born in June.
