Tom Hanks is regarded as one of Hollywood's nice guys, as he's carried out a number of good deeds over the years -- but now the tables have turned and the actor became the recipient of a kind act.

On Twitter, Hanks shared a story with his fans about a lost credit card that was subsequently returned to him by a well-meaning individual. The post further explains, "A guy named Tony found my credit card on the street in NYC and returned it! Tony! You make this city even greater! Thanx. HANX."

The post quickly went viral. It's unclear if Tony is one of his fans, but there is the possibility that he read about Hanks' previous interactions with folks and wanted to return the favor.

Last year, a story started making the rounds online about Hanks' friendship with a taxi driver that formed during a chance encounter and resulted in the cabbie receiving an invite to a Broadway show.
