Dak Prescott and some of his Mississippi State teammates were just trying to enjoy Spring Break in Panama City, Florida, but instead they found themselves as the victims of an attack outside of a concert.
Can confirm that Dak Prescott was jumped at a concert in PCB while on spring break. His brother tells me he's doing fine.- Alex Scarborough (@AlexS_ESPN) March 10, 2015
Prescott also addressed the situation on social media.
Thanks for all the Concerns and Prayers! I'm okay and ready to get back to Starkville. Ignorance happens! Be safe on Spring Break!- Dak Prescott (@15_DakP) March 10, 2015
Further details of the situation were released by Michael Bonner of The Clarion-Ledger, as told by Prescott's family.
Dak Prescott is recovering from lacerations to his face after a group of men attacked the Mississippi State quarterback and his teammates during a trip on spring break, Prescott's family told the Clarion-Ledger.
The injuries the senior sustained are not serious and the group is returning home after the incident, the family said.
No arrests have been made, and Prescott and his teammates have decided against pressing charges.
Since reports of the assault initially made their way to the Internet, video of the attack has made its way online. In one video, you can see Prescott - in multi-colored shorts - being thrown to the ground and then kicked in the head.
Brooks Roberts of Bulldog Sports Radio passed along photos of Prescott receiving medical attention after the assault.
Luckily Prescott and his teammates escaped without any serious injury and everyone seems to be doing well.
