March is staying true to form and coming in like a lion, so take some time to relive the world's biggest news stories through this week's best photography.

Elsewhere in the world, citizens of Afghanistan continued their recovery efforts after recent devastating avalanches, and the eruption of the Villarica volcano in Chile caused evacuations in neighboring areas.

In happier news, Indian Hindus continued celebrating the colorful spring Holi festival, while nearby in China, citizens enjoyed the Lantern Festival, which is the last celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year.
