Duggars facing backlash over alleged animal cruelty in social media post
You can usually count on someone in the Duggar clan to end up in the news. Between cameras following Jim Bob, Michelle and their 19 children on their reality show, their constantly expanding family tree and some controversial views, the family is a tabloid mainstay.
Now, the '19 Kids and Counting' stars are taking heat over a video posted to social media. And, well, it's just bizarre. The video shows Derick Dillard -- husband to Jill Duggar and father-to-be to the couple's first child -- being pushed on a cookie tray sled by brother in-law Ben Seewald. Seewald is married to Jessa Duggar.
In the video, Dillard shouts at a cat to move, but aims his DIY sled right at the animal -- all while the surrounding family cheers on.
Dillard posted the video to his Instagram account with the caption "Sledding with friends and family at the Duggar home :-) #smallestsled"
Commenters responded to the video in disgust on the Instagram page. One user posted: "What the hell is wrong with you? You deliberately tried to run over that cat!! Sickening! Animal abuse is not glorifying God!!!"
And another said: "For a family that preaches so much, I think it is pretty disgusting that you would post a video showing you deliberately trying to hurt an innocent cat. What is wrong with you? Scary thing is you are going to have a child soon, and instead you are acting like the child. Grow up and make better decisions."
So far, no one from the Duggar family has commented on the video.
