Lady Gaga took the stage at the 2015 Academy Awards to mark the 50th anniversary of the beloved musical "Sound of Music" -- and she definitely didn't disappoint.

The pop singer came out in a gorgeous pale gown with flowing long hair to sing "The Hills Are Alive" and other classic tunes from the hit show. We're used to seeing Gaga's eccentric performances, but this stripped-down moment was one to be remembered.

She wowed the crowd so much that they all leapt to their feet after she held her last impressive note -- not to mention that Julie Andrews joined her on stage amidst the applause to praise the singer's amazing rendition.
