Rosie O'Donnell opens up about her separation

Updated

Rosie O'Donnell is opening up about her separation from wife Michelle Rounds after they split up in November.

This comes a day after O'Donnell bid adieu to ABC's "The View"-- only five months after she began hosting the morning talk show.

During her appearance on "The Dr. Oz Show" on Friday, O'Donnell said, "I'm doing everything that I can to take care myself, and I think Michelle is doing the same thing."

O'Donnell explained further saying, "I think what we both want is for each other to be happy and live the most complete and full life we can. We're going to figure out whether or not that's together or separate."

The pair has five children together.

When ABC first announced O'Donnell's departure from "The View," the host later posted a video explaining why she left. But she also brought up her personal life saying, "I'm minimizing my stress by leaving 'The View'...There's lots of stuff going on at home."

Certainly, the past few months have been rough for Rosie.
