Kevin Smith Shows His Softer Side In Tribute Post To Family Dog

Funny man Kevin Smith showed us his softer side in a post that paid tribute to his dog of 17 years who died on Wednesday.

The 'Clerks' director posted this photo of himself holding the dog to his Facebook page, with the following caption:

"Good Dog. Dark day in our household: our oldest dog Mulder is dying. As I've spent the last year carrying him like Hodor, I'm not taking this well..."

His beloved pup died around 1 PM on Wednesday.

In another post, Smith remembered his dog by quoting 'Dr. Who': "'Some things are worth getting your heart broken for.' Mulder was beyond worth it."

The post quickly received thousands of responses from fans and fellow animal lovers who sympathized with the comedian.

Smith, his wife Jennifer and daughter Harley have two other dogs: a dachshund named Shecky and a chocolate Lab named Louis.

The director is currently working on his latest project "Yoga Hosers" with Johnny Depp. In the film, Depp stars alongside his own daughter and Smith's daughter, playing a man-hunter who teams up with a pair of teen yoga enthusiasts.
