Couple gets makeovers just in time for Valentine's Day

Kathie Lee and Hoda decided nothing quite says love like a makeover. Just in time for Valentine's Day, the show transformed a couple during the weekly ambush makeover segment.

The hosts chose John and Mary, who've been married for 34 years. They looked nice before, but you can see John had some grays and Mary's blonde hair seemed to be fading.

They just moved to New York from Des Moines, Iowa, to care for their 15-month-old granddaughter.

"Can't pick somebody new, so we'll just change what we look like," Mary said before the makeovers started.

After the makeovers were complete and Mary and John finally got to see each other -- well, it might just might be the cutest thing we've ever seen.

John's reaction to Mary's makeover? "You look as beautiful as usual!"

Mary, who never does much with her hair, got a brand-new cut and color to make her hair seem thicker. And John's grays are no more!

The show's fans were loving the makeover. One even tweeted it was "the SWEETEST makeover ever!"

Another said she couldn't go to class until the makeovers were shown on the show.

John joked he wanted to get the whole style team to come to their house to help him and Mary get ready for their Valentine's Day date.
