Neil Young and Jimmy Fallon's 'Neil Young' perform together

Updated

Jimmy Fallon's most famous impression got put to the test in the most memorable way possible when he was joined on the "Tonight Show" stage by Neil Young himself Tuesday night.

"Old man, take a look at my life, I'm a lot like you. I need someone to love me the whole day through." (Video via NBC / "Tonight Show")

Yes, after watching Fallon imitate Young alongside Bruce Springsteen, Crosby, Stills & Nash and many others in the past, we finally got to see him sing next to the legend himself.

And it was pretty impressive. Everything from Fallon's clothing to his voice almost exactly matched Young's. Talk about a double take!

After the performance, a writer for The Week gushed, "Fallon really holds his own. It must have been a little surreal for Young."

Though as Mediaite points out, "His more nasaly, higher-pitched delivery becomes quite obvious" when they're right next to each other.

That didn't seem to matter to many viewers on Twitter, though, who called the duet absolutely awesome.

Well, we think it's safe to say Jimmy Fallon is officially the master of musical impressions.
